Iceland | Winter Escape

Iceland in February is not for the faint-hearted. It;s for the curious, the quietly adventurous, and those who understand that discomfort and beauty are often found in the same place. This trip was designed around that tension: days that moved between the raw and the deeply restorative, from a private snowmobile ride across the surface of Langjökull glacier and a four-hour chase for the Northern Lights across Iceland's ink-dark interior, to a seven-course dinner at Moss and an in-water massage as steam rose from the lagoon. The Retreat at Blue Lagoon, its pools snaking through lava canyons, its spa carved into the rock beneath, provided the stillness between the moments of exhilaration. Three nights that felt, in the way the best trips always do, considerably longer than they were.
